Whatever fits the problem — Python, Node.js, shell scripts, lightweight serverless. I default to simple, well-documented tools anyone can pick up later. No exotic dependencies just to show off.
Scope is agreed in writing before money changes hands. Anything outside that scope is a separate build — not a mid-weekend negotiation. Clear boundaries protect both of us.
